Socialburn originated in the mid-'90s around high-school pals Neil Alday (vocals/guitar), Dusty Price (bass), and Brandon Bittner (drums). After forming on the fly in their tiny central Florida hometown, the group expanded into the scene in nearby Tallahassee. Listeners took a liking to their straightforward post-grunge growl, and Socialburn was soon a hit at local radio. By 2000, guitarist Chris Cobb had been added and a self-released CD had dropped. SB branched out with gigs in Jacksonville and Orlando, hoping to generate label interest in an area already buzzing with the success of Creed.

Vacancy Lyrics

Socialburn

Time sometimes gets away from me
I lost myself trying to make you see
That every time you cry I lose my mind
I can't see who you need me to be
When you're lost as well in your vacancy
Locked up and waiting for the sun

[Chorus]
Cause it's raining where you are
I'm trying but it's too hard
Yeah it's raining where you are
But you can't run away from everything
So just fall back, fall back

It feels like hell when I'm dying inside
Searching to find some peace of mind
To make it seem like everything's not wrong
Just give me the key and let me in your room
I'll try my best not to make a move
So I won't have to hurt you anymore

[Chorus]
Cause it's raining where you are
I'm trying but it's too hard
Yeah it's raining where you are
But you can't run away from everything
So just fall back, fall back

[Lead break]
[Chorus x2]
